Previously, we tested the page speed of our pick’s of 9 WordPress Theme for Business and Corporate
And now, we are going to test the page speed for Top 10 Best seller’s WordPress theme for Business and Corporate on Themeforest.
Ten Selected Themes
For the theme selections, we use the following filtering option to choose the Top 10 best sales’ theme on Themeforest. The reason we did not use the Top Sellers for the Sales filtering option is we want to include the latest added theme for the speed test.
- Category: Corporate
- Tags: Corporate and Business
- Sales: High
- Rating: 4 stars and higher
- Date Added: In the last year
- WordPress: WordPress 5.1.X
- Compatible with: Woocoomerce
Before the test, Let’s have a quick view of the 10 selected themes.
Price and Site URLs
The table below shows the price and demo site URLs for each of the themes that we used in the test. The themes are in the range of USD $39-59.
|WP Theme Names||Price (USD $)||Site|
Same as the previous test, this time, we will continue to use the Pingdom, GTMetrix and Google LightHouse 4.0.0 in Chrome Browser.
How did we test?
For Pingdom and GTMetrix, the tests are quite straightforward. We basically just copy and paste the demo sites URL into the website and run the test. For Pingdom, we tested them using the Asia-Japan-Tokyo server, while for GTMetrix, the test server was from Vancouver, Canada using Chrome (Desktop) version 62.0.3202.94 and PageSpeed 1.15-gt1.2.
For Google Lighthouse or PageSpeed Insight, we did not test using the website. But, we did the test using the Chrome browser Version 73.0.3683.103 (Official Build) (64-bit) built-in developer tool in incognito mode with Lighthouse 4.0.0. The test runtime settings are shown as follows,
Device: Emulated Nexus 5X
Network throttling: Provided by environment
CPU throttling: Provided by environment
User agent (host): Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/73.0.3683.103 Safari/537.36
User agent (network): Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 6.0.1; Nexus 5 Build/MRA58N) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/71.0.3559.0 Mobile Safari/537.36
Pingdom Test Result
From the Pingdom test result, Econo is the Best performance WordPress theme that scored 92 points with a short loading time of 2.60 seconds only. Other than this theme, there is another theme had scored above 90 points in the Pingdom test is Induzy, however, its loading time is higher compared to Econo.
Worth to mention, there are three themes have scored more than 80 points in this test. They are Crocol, Financia, and Unbound. It is great to see that Econo and Crocal’s loading time are less than 3 seconds here.
|WP Theme Names||Performance||Load time (sec)||Size (MB)||Request|
GTMetrix and Lighthouse Test Results
For GTMetrix test, there are 4 themes achieved more than 90 points and scored A rating in the page speed test. They are Crocal, Econo, Unbound and Finacia. However, for Google LightHouse test, only two themes, Crocal and Econo can score more than 80 points.
For the lowest performance theme, although Nortech can score a satisfying result in Pingdom test with a performance point of 70, it literally has failed the tests with GTMetrix and also Google Lighthouse. The reason could be due to the big website size and also a large number of request from the server.
GTMetrix gives the following recommendation for Nortech demo site:
- Enable gzip compression
- Leverage browser caching
- Specify a cache validator
- Optimize images
In conclusion, p age speed is very important for the business website, as it probably will be the first impression to your visitors. A fast loading site reflects the efficiency and also the professionalism here.
From the test above, Crocal (USD $59) and Econo (USD $39) are the best performance theme in the speed. If you are looking for a budget type of Premium WordPress theme, you probably can go for the Econo.
